Environmental Teaching Assistant

Under the direction of the Park Manager or Environmental Educator 1, the Environmental Teaching Assistant will assist with educational programming for adults, children, school groups, and scout groups at the Environmental Education and Resiliency Center. They will also, keep detailed records, and assist with organizing our volunteer and internship program. Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Conduct environmental education programs by leading interpretive walks, preparing and teaching lessons, presenting slide and film programs. 2. Plan, prepare and build displays, exhibits and other teaching aids. 3. Assist in research, writing and producing educational and promotional materials. 4. Plan for programs by suggesting program content, scheduling programs and registering participants, and preparing materials and teaching aids. 5. Clean, repair and maintain facilities, equipment, and exhibits. 6. Care for animals (turtles, snakes birds, etc.) on site as well as exhibiting different types of animals in educational programming. We currently have two box turtles that we use for educational programming and animal ambassadors. 7. Assist the Environmental Educator 1 in administering programs and facilities by preparing reports, training and supervising staff and performing other support activities. 8. Under the direction of higher-level park operations staff, Park & Recreation Aides are responsible for general park and facility maintenance, customer service, and program support. 9. Employee maintains the park and facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment, which will include light duty maintenance, sanitizing of facilities, trash removal. 10. Employee must be able to interact with patrons to resolve questions, disseminate information, and provide excellent customer service 11. Employee supports park programming, including event staffing, set-up, and break-down. 12. Must be physically able to perform some physical labor and must be able to lift at least 30 pounds. 13. Must be willing to work outdoors year-round and, in all weather, conditions. 14. Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. 15. Must possess strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently

Salary Range:
From $17.98 to $17.98 HourlyEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
